The government of Andhra Pradesh unveiled the world's tallest statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar named as Statue of Social Justice, in the grounds of Swaraj Maida in Vijayawada.

About Dr. BR Ambedkar

Introduction

  1. Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, 
  2. He was a prominent jurist, economist, social reformer, and politician. 
  3. Dedicated his life to opposing caste injustice and advocating for the rights of oppressed populations.

  1. Founded the Bahishkrit Bharat newspaper in 1927 to address underprivileged needs. 
  2. Led the Mahad Satyagraha in 1927, advocating for the poor's right to public water sources. 
  3. Participation in Round Table Conferences and signing the Poona Pact in 1932 were crucial moments in his pursuit of justice.

  1. B.R. Ambedkar served as Chairman of the Constituent Assembly's Drafting Committee. 
  2. Crafted the Indian Constitution with principles of equality, social justice, and fundamental rights.

  1. Founded groups like the Bahishkrit Hitkarini Sabha (1923), Independent Labor Party (1936), and All India Scheduled Castes Federation (1942).
