Latest Context

The Ayushman Bhav campaign and the Ayushman Bhava portal were essentially established by the President of India in an effort to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and guarantee healthcare for everyone.

Facts about Ayushman Bhav Campaign

  • This effort aims to improve access and cost for underprivileged groups while extending the reach of healthcare services.
  • The campaign uses India's attempts to increase digital inclusion to increase access to healthcare while also raising awareness of important health programmes and disorders.
  • The 'Ayushman Bhav' campaign, which represents a whole-of-nation and whole-of-society approach, will be executed during the 'Seva Pakhwada'.
  • The Seva Pakhwada is a two-week campaign (from September 17 to October 2, 2023) that intends to increase awareness of state-level critical health services programmes.

How Does Ayushman Bhava Change the Healthcare Environment in India?

  • Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Goal:

  • The campaign uses a cross-ministerial, cooperative strategy.
  • The phrase "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas" (Together with All, Development for All) is in line with Ayushman Bhava.
  • This ideology emphasises inclusivity, ensuring that everyone has access to healthcare.
  • Three Key Components of Ayushman Bhava:

  • Ayushman - Apke Dwar (AAD) 3.0: Eligible beneficiaries will be able to produce Ayushman cards for themselves, themselves, or any other family members thanks to AAD 3.0. This simplifies benefits and access to healthcare.
  • Ayushman Melas at HWCs and CHCs: Each week, Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) and Community Health Clinics (CHCs) arrange Health Melas and Medical Camps. Super-specialty healthcare services, such as non-communicable disease screenings, teleconsultations, free medications, and diagnostics, are prioritised by these organisations.
  • Ayushman Sabhas: Ayushman Sabha is a local assembly that is run by the Ward Committee/Municipal Advisory Committee (MAS) in urban wards or the Village Health and Sanitation Committee (VHSNC) in rural areas. Its main goal is to guarantee complete healthcare coverage and the best possible delivery of medical services.
  • Ayushman Gram Panchayats: Gram Panchayats will become Ayushman Gramme Panchayats if they successfully complete their healthcare goals. This promotes local involvement and commitment.
