The West Bengal Legislative Assembly has adopted the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) to digitise its legislative processes and move towards a paperless system.
About National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA)
- NeVA is a digital platform developed to digitise the functioning of State Legislatures and Union Territory Legislative Assemblies.
- It is one of the 44 Mission Mode Projects (MMPs) under the Digital India Programme.
- The initiative aims to establish paperless legislatures and integrate legislative houses through a common digital platform under the vision of “One Nation, One Application.”
- It serves as a member-centric and device-neutral platform, providing access to bills, notices, agendas, bulletins, rules of procedure, and other legislative documents.
- NeVA facilitates the smooth conduct of legislative proceedings and House business.
- The platform is hosted on MeghRaj 2.0, the Government of India’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable operations.
