  1. Recently, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Food Programme (WFP) for supplying rice to support global humanitarian operations aimed at fighting hunger.

    1. It is a specialised humanitarian agency of the United Nations.
    2. Core Mandate (driven by SDG 2): Eradication of hunger, Promotion of global food security, Emergency food assistance and Improving nutrition and community resilience.
