About Project UDAYAK
- It was established on 1st June 1990 at Doomdooma, Assam, to promote infrastructure development in India’s far-eastern region.
- The name “UDAYAK” means “Rising Sun”, as its area of responsibility includes the region that receives the country’s first sunrise.
- It develops and maintains strategic road infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh and parts of Assam.
- It enhances connectivity in border areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and the India–Myanmar border.
- It is currently constructing roads and border-fencing infrastructure along the India–Myanmar border, supporting border management, regional connectivity, and national security.
