About Paniya Tribe

1. Paniya/Paniyan is a major Scheduled Tribe of Kerala and has the largest population among individual tribal communities in the state.
   1. Their principal concentration is in Wayanad, while they are also present in Kannur, Kozhikode and Malappuram.
   2. Outside Kerala, they are found in Gudalur and Pandalur of Tamil Nadu and parts of Kodagu in Karnataka.
