About National Statistical Commission
- The National Statistical Commission (NSC) was established in 2005 on the recommendations of the Rangarajan Commission (2000).
- It is the apex body for coordinating and strengthening India’s statistical system.
- The Commission comprises a part-time Chairperson, four part-time Members, and the CEO of NITI Aayog as an ex-officio Member.
- The Chief Statistician of India serves as the Secretary to the Commission.
