Recently, the Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs met with the Special Envoy for strategic connectivity and national coordinator for the Three Seas Initiative.
What is the Three Seas Initiative?
- It is a regional cooperation platform in Europe that focuses on strengthening infrastructure connectivity and economic development.
- Main Objective: The initiative aims to expand Energy infrastructure, Transportation networks and Digital connectivity across countries located between three major European seas – Adriatic Sea, Baltic Sea and Black Sea.
- Participating Countries: 13 European countries (all are members of European Union as well and except for Austria, all are NATO allies also) – Austria, Croatia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Latvia and Lithuania.
