Free Coaching Scheme for SCs and OBCs

- Objective: Provide high- quality coaching, prepare them for competitive and entrance examinations for jobs, and Facilitate admissions to prestigious specialized and professional higher education institutions to economically underprivileged SC and OBC candidates.
- Ceiling of the total family income: 8 lakhs per annum.
- Allotted slots: 3500 per annum.
- SC and OBC student’s ratio: 70:30
- In the event that there are insufficient candidates for the SC category, the Ministry may reduce this ratio.
- In no case: Less than 50% SC students shall be permitted.
- Reservation for females: 30% in each category.
- Fund released: A total of 109.77 crore rupees have been given from 2014–15 to 2022–23 for the benefit of 19,995 recipients.

Top Class Education for SCs
|
- Objectives: By offering complete financial assistance, recognize and encourage SC students to pursue high-quality education.
- Coverage: Cover SC students for pursuing studies beyond 12th class.
- Subject to the student's satisfactory performance, the scholarship will be given out for the completion of the course.
- Ceiling of the total family income: 8 lakhs per annum.
- Coverage of Higher education institutes: In addition to the top 100 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking institutions, it also covers government and private institutions like as all IIMs, IITs, NITs, IIITs, AIIMS, NIFTs, NIDs, NLUs, IHMs, and CUs.
- Cap on overall number of scholarships: 21,500 for the period of 2021-22 to 2025-26 (4100 for 2021-22, 4200 for 2022-23, 4300 for 2023-24, 4400 for 2024-25 and 4500 for 2025-26).
- Key features:
- Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges
- Ceiling: 2.00 lakh rupees per student annually is the upper limit for private universities.
- Academic allowance: Rs. 86,000 in the first year of study and Rs. 41,000 in each succeeding year are given for living expenses and other costs.
- Fund released: From 2014-15 till 2022-23 a total of 400 crore rupees (approx.) have been released to benefit more than 20000 beneficiaries.

National Overseas Scheme for SCs
|
- Provide financial assistance: For pursuing masters and Ph.D. level courses abroad to the selected students from:
- SCs (115 slots)
- De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (6 slots)
- Landless agricultural laborers and traditional artisan categories (4 slots)
- Ceiling of the total family income: 8 lakhs per annum.
- Qualifying marks: More than 60% marks in the qualifying examination and secured admission in top 500 QS ranking foreign Institutes/ Universities.
- Minimum age: Below 35 years of age.
- Benefits: Provide the recipients with the whole tuition cost, maintenance and contingency allowance, visa fee, to-and-from plane transportation, etc.
- Fund Allocation: From 2014-15 till 2022-23 a total of 197.14 crore rupees released.
- Beneficiaries: More than 950.

National Fellowship for SC Students
|
- Benefits: Support SC students in pursuing higher education leading to Phil/Ph.D. degrees.
- Fellowship rates for JRF and SRF.
- Contingency allowances for Humanities & Social Sciences and Sciences, Engineering & Technology.
- Generous fellowship rates and no financial ceiling.
- Availability: Available in Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
- Qualifying Criteria: Based on qualifying exams like NET-JRF and UGC-CSIR Joint Test.
- Funding Allocation: From 2014-15 to 2022-23, a total of 89 crore rupees released.
- Beneficiaries: More than 20000 beneficiaries.
