National Awards for e-Governance

Context

The Union Government has announced 16 winners of the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2026 for excellence in digital governance and citizen-centric service delivery.

About National Awards for e-Governance

  1. National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) are presented annually to recognise excellence in digital governance and technology-enabled public service delivery.
  2. The awards are administered by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
  3. NAeG 2026 includes 16 awards, comprising 10 Gold Awards and 6 Silver Awards.
  4. Eligible recipients include Central Ministries and Departments, States, Union Territories, districts, organisations, and Gram Panchayats.
  5. Gold awardees receive a trophy, certificate, and ₹10 lakh, while Silver awardees receive a trophy, certificate, and ₹5 lakh.
  6. The incentive amount is intended to support public welfare projects and address resource gaps in service delivery.
  7. The awards are presented under seven categories, recognising innovations in digital transformation, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, district administration, grassroots governance, project replication, and data-driven decision-making.
  8. They encourage the adoption of AI, data analytics, and cybersecurity solutions to enhance efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric service delivery.
  9. The awards also promote the scaling of successful e-governance initiatives and recognise the contribution of local self-government institutions in strengthening digital governance at the grassroots level.
