Context
The Union Government has announced 16 winners of the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2026 for excellence in digital governance and citizen-centric service delivery.
About National Awards for e-Governance
- National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) are presented annually to recognise excellence in digital governance and technology-enabled public service delivery.
- The awards are administered by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
- NAeG 2026 includes 16 awards, comprising 10 Gold Awards and 6 Silver Awards.
- Eligible recipients include Central Ministries and Departments, States, Union Territories, districts, organisations, and Gram Panchayats.
- Gold awardees receive a trophy, certificate, and ₹10 lakh, while Silver awardees receive a trophy, certificate, and ₹5 lakh.
- The incentive amount is intended to support public welfare projects and address resource gaps in service delivery.
- The awards are presented under seven categories, recognising innovations in digital transformation, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, district administration, grassroots governance, project replication, and data-driven decision-making.
- They encourage the adoption of AI, data analytics, and cybersecurity solutions to enhance efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric service delivery.
