EX TIGER TRIUMPH 24: BILATERAL TRI-SERVICE HADR EXERCISE

  1. The Opening Ceremony of the Bilateral Tri-Service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Amphibious Exercise between India and US, Tiger Triumph, was held onboard INS Jalashwa today 19 Mar 2024.
  2. This exercise is taking place on the Eastern Seaboard (East Coast) of India.

Previous Exercises and Alliances

  1. The first Tiger Triumph exercise was held in 2019 for 9 days.
  2. India and the US also participated in the Milan-24 multilateral naval exercise in February 2024.
  3. They took part in the Sea-Defenders 2024 maritime security exercise in Port Blair on March 8, 2024.

Harbour Phase (18-25 Mar 24):

  1. Held in Visakhapatnam, it includes subject matter expert exchanges and planning discussions.
  2. Sports activities have been planned to enhance camaraderie among the armed forces personnel.

Sea Phase (26-31 Mar 24):

  1. Units of both the countries will set up joint command and control centers and joint relief and medical camps.
  2. Focus on joint planning and implementation processes.

Participating Units:

From the Indian side:

  1. Indian Navy ships, helicopters, and landing crafts
  2. Indian Army personnel and vehicles
  3. Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters
  4. Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT)

From the US side:

  1. US Navy ships
  2. US Marine Corps troops
  3. US Army troops
